good things take time

It’s funny how leaving boarding school felt like the end of the world,

But now, it feels just right—happiness found its way to me.

It’s funny how people who once disliked me,

Now act like they’ve always been my biggest fans.

It’s funny how I used to hate certain foods,

And now, I enjoy them without a second thought.

It’s funny how my 8th-grade self thought she was just average,

But now, she’s ahead—still learning, still growing.

It’s funny how I once felt lost,

Sitting in a hospital room on my birthday,

But now, I see—it was all part of the journey.

It’s funny how the tomboy in me hated pink and all things girly,

And now, I love dressing up and feeling my best.

It’s funny how I thought I’d never find true friends,

But now, I have a family I chose.

It’s funny how society once made me doubt myself,

But now, I know my worth, and nothing else matters.

It’s funny how younger me struggled with self-love,

But now, she shines with confidence.

It’s funny how time once felt slow, stuck in place,

But now, life moves forward, unstoppable.

Because good things take time,

You grow, you change, you succeed—

It’s all about time.
